Employee Relations Manager

At the University of California, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and community. As an Employee Relations Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our staff employees receive the support and guidance they need to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and employment-related documents.
  • Review and ensure compliance with HR procedures, policies, and contracts.
  • Partner with various departments, including Compliance and Privacy Services, Staff Diversity & Compliance, and Title IX, to ensure uniform and best practices.
  • Represent UCLA Health in work-groups and committees to foster successful partnerships across departments.
  • Orient management and leadership on policy and legal compliance, including FMLA, corrective action, and performance appraisals.
  • Assist in creating HR process protocols and conduct investigations into matters related to Title IX, sexual violence, discrimination, and workplace investigations.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in employment-related matters.
  • Knowledge of public sector laws and requirements, with a preference for experience in the healthcare industry and higher education.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to analyze and draft proposals for negotiations and settlements.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with various departments and offices.
