Job Description and Duties

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Relations Representative to join our team at the Department of Industrial Relations. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing consultation services to the public, developing and preparing documented referrals, and educating the public on labor laws.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intake consultation assessments with the public for various programs within the Labor Commissioner's Office.
  • Develop and prepare documented referrals to other units, and educate the public on labor laws.
  • Apply theories to assess violations on liable employers in various claim and report processing.
  • Promote team cooperation and encourage participation, and work well with others on a team to achieve personal goals, team goals, and organizational goals.
Requirements:
  • Must be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.
  • Must have a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that meets the requirements outlined in the job posting.
Working Conditions:

The position is located in a high-volume, fast-paced office that handles wage claims and consistently interfaces with the public. May travel to assist other offices with conducting conferences.

Special Requirements:

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required as part of the application packet. The SOQ must be typed in 12-point Arial font and be no more than two pages in length.
