Your Impact
As a Safety and Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in fostering a secure environment for all. This position supports the patient care system, minimizes disruptions, and enhances the overall experience for everyone involved. Responsibilities include managing critical incidents, safeguarding patient belongings, overseeing property inventory, and maintaining an active security presence. You will provide surveillance, personal escort services, vehicle assistance, and conduct inspections as needed. A thorough understanding of safety protocols and the ability to respond swiftly to various situations across all eCommunity locations is essential.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A valid Indiana Driver's License is necessary.
- Prior experience in security within a healthcare or similar environment is preferred.
- Must obtain Hazmat Certification Level 1 and Indiana License to Carry a Handgun within one year of employment.
- Familiarity with departmental policies and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, including AIDET, AVADE de-escalation techniques, Defensive Tactics, and citizen arrest protocols.
- Ability to assist law enforcement as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations is required.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
