Make a Difference

The Patient Safety & Risk Manager plays a crucial role within our Quality Resource Risk Management Team. This position is responsible for:

  • Identifying and Monitoring: Recognizing potential risks to patients, staff, and visitors, and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Facilitating Analysis: Leading root cause analysis and Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) teams to enhance patient safety.
  • Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participating in and guiding the daily operations of network initiatives, including quality improvement programs and peer review activities.
  • Collaboration: Working alongside various committees to address quality assurance and improvement processes, including case management and infection control.
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cohesive team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of process improvement principles.
  • A degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (Associate's required; Bachelor's preferred).
  • One of the following certifications: Patient Safety Officer Certification, Certified Professional Healthcare in Quality (CPHQ), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical or healthcare-related experience, with a preference for risk management experience.
  • Adaptability to changing situations and the ability to independently resolve problems.
  • Capability to represent Quality Resource Risk Management in various committees.
  • Skills to provide an exceptional patient care experience.
