Hitachi Data Systems is seeking a motivated and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer for Suppliers who excels in a dynamic setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a diverse array of responsibilities ranging from operational tasks to strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the evaluation of bids and proposals as necessary.
  • Assist the Procurement team in the sourcing process, including conducting initial risk assessments and facilitating supplier selection and approval based on the complexity of components.
  • Prepare suppliers for Gate review processes to ensure timely First Article Inspections (FAI) and monitor outstanding actions until successful shipment completion.
  • Support suppliers with pre-shipment inspections as needed.
  • Develop and oversee audits related to products, processes, and systems within the assigned category.
  • Participate in supplier evaluation and rating activities.
  • Initiate and manage the Supplier Risk Management Process.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes.
  • Track Supplier Corrective Action Reports and compile statistical analyses.
  • Report on the status of quarantined and blocked stock to suppliers as required.
  • Work closely with Hitachi facilities and service teams in Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC) and other investigations related to non-conforming products.
  • Provide periodic reports on supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Six Sigma, as needed.
  • Support internal quality and production teams in various tasks and meetings.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Supplier Quality role; experience in the railway sector is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Extensive background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
  • Proficient in Quality and Continuous Improvement tools such as APQP, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and conduct independent activities at supplier locations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Lead auditor qualifications and experience (IRCA certification preferred).

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
