Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role within Arconic's Rolled Products North America (RPNA) Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering (MTE) team. The Lead Electrical Systems Engineer will deliver engineering expertise and oversight for high voltage electrical drives and large AC/DC motors utilized throughout Arconic's rolling operations. Responsibilities will encompass:

  • Management of significant projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Development of maintenance and troubleshooting strategies for large motor equipment.
  • Providing engineering support to maintenance teams, operational staff, and production engineers.
  • Facilitating continuous improvement initiatives and offering technical solutions to recurring design and application challenges.
  • Conducting training and creating documentation for maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Overseeing the execution of capital projects and major maintenance activities.

The MTE group is dedicated to enhancing equipment reliability, driving process improvements, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting automation initiatives. This position is integral to the global Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering organization within the Rolled Products sector of Arconic Corp, which operates multiple manufacturing facilities domestically and internationally.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing context.
  • Proficiency in handling large AC/DC motors, industrial high voltage systems, and power distribution.
  • Experience in leading and executing electrical projects, including design and commissioning phases.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
  • Access to controlled technology may necessitate compliance with government regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with electrical systems and manufacturing principles.
  • 5 years of expertise in high voltage electrical equipment engineering and maintenance.
  • Experience in supervising craft personnel during the implementation of engineered solutions.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD.
  • Experience in managing capital project estimations and installations.
  • Proficient in designing and maintaining industrial electrical power and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across various functions.
