This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer within Arconic's Rolled Products North America (RPNA) MTE team. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing engineering expertise and leadership for high voltage electrical drives and large AC/DC motors utilized throughout Arconic's rolling operations. Key responsibilities will encompass project management, safety initiatives, maintenance strategies for large motor equipment, and engineering support for production areas.

The successful candidate will also engage in continuous improvement efforts, delivering technical solutions to recurring design and process challenges, as well as offering training and documentation in electrical engineering and maintenance. Furthermore, this individual will manage and execute capital projects, oversee major repairs, and provide electrical engineering assistance across all manufacturing sectors.

The MTE group focuses on enhancing equipment reliability, process optimization, troubleshooting, automation, and the implementation of best practices for significant capital projects. This position plays a crucial role within the global Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering organization of Arconic's Rolled Products division, which spans multiple domestic and international locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with large AC/DC motors, industrial high voltage systems, and power distribution.
  • Proven track record in leading and executing electrical projects, including design and installation.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; verification of employment eligibility will be conducted.
  • Access to controlled technology may necessitate government authorization for compliance with export regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with electrical systems and manufacturing principles.
  • 5 years of expertise in high voltage electrical equipment and engineering.
  • Experience supervising personnel in the implementation of engineered solutions and maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience in managing capital projects from estimation to installation.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical power and control systems, including transformers and switchgear.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and creative thinking.
  • Experience managing external vendors for electrical design and support.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across various functions.
