This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to engage with Arconic's Rolled Products North America (RPNA) Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering (MTE) team. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support and leadership for high voltage electrical drives and large AC/DC motors utilized throughout Arconic's rolling network. Key responsibilities will encompass major project management, safety program oversight, maintenance of large motor equipment, troubleshooting plans, and engineering support for maintenance and operations teams across production areas.

The successful candidate will also be tasked with delivering electrical engineering expertise and continuous improvement initiatives, addressing recurring design, process, and application challenges, as well as providing training and documentation for maintenance and engineering teams. Additionally, this role involves the development, management, and execution of capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance activities, alongside offering electrical engineering support across all manufacturing and plant sectors.

The MTE group plays a crucial role in enhancing equipment reliability, driving process improvements, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting automation and smart manufacturing initiatives. This position is essential within the global Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering organization of Arconic's Rolled Products business group, which spans several domestic and international locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with large AC/DC motors, industrial high voltage systems, 480VAC power distribution, transformers, automation, and process control systems.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing electrical projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; verification of employment eligibility will be necessary at the time of hire.
  • This position necessitates access to controlled technology as defined in the Export Administration Regulations and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, which may require authorizations from relevant government agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience and comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems and manufacturing principles.
  • 5 years of experience in high voltage electrical equipment engineering, design, application specification, maintenance, and failure analysis.
  • Experience in overseeing craft personnel involved in the implementation of engineered solutions and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience in estimating, justifying, managing, and executing capital projects.
  • Expertise in designing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial electrical power and control systems, including transformers, switchgear, transmission lines, substations, breakers, and relays.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, industry safety standards, and relevant codes and specifications.
  • Robust background in electrical engineering, maintenance, and reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
  • Experience managing external vendors providing electrical design and support services.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and across functional teams.
