Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is a technical sales representative based out of the Carol Stream, IL location. They work with assigned markets and customers to promote a variety of plant services with a primary emphasis on laser engraving and consumer goods product sales.
- Pursues new business prospects and develops strong consultative relationships with existing customers.
- Responds to customer RFQs and actively manages all quote opportunities in SAP.
- Sells the combined offerings of Standex Engraving (chemical, laser, tool finishing, etc.) and provides customers with technical support and solutions.
- Manages the details of upcoming jobs to ensure that tools are ready to move through the texturing process when they arrive in our facility.
- Accurately and timely disseminates information.
- Performs other activities as required in support of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering, business, sales/marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a laser sales and consumer goods product, or a similar technical and/or sales role.
- 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry, tool/mold shops, and texturing.
- Some local travel (approximately 25-35%).
Requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional presence and demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage several priorities with tool shops, Tier 1 suppliers, molders, and OEMs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to be flexible and adaptable to both internal and external customer needs.
- Ability to influence through effective communication (presentations, written and verbal communications).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite products and internet navigation.
