About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Highway Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our Transportation team, you will be responsible for leading design teams on GDOT and municipal projects, including highway, roadway geometric design, roadway plan production, and drainage design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project tasks for conceptual and preliminary engineering and final design activities, as well as development of construction plans, calculations, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines such as structures, hydraulics, traffic, and utilities.
  • Participate hands-on in the preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E).
  • Review, monitor, and/or develop complex layouts, sketches, plans, specifications, and estimates standards and guidelines, correspondence, and/or prepare reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in large transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Professional Engineering License in GA or ability to obtain in six months.
  • Significant experience leading design teams on GDOT and municipal projects.
  • Developing skills in project and staff management experience on civil transportation projects.
  • Experience with daily mentoring of junior staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on Alternative Delivery projects.
  • Experience with large transportation design-build projects.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field.
