Job Summary

The Highway Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and designing roadways and highways, producing plans, specifications, and reports for conventional and design-build projects. This role involves monitoring labor budgets and schedules, coordinating with discipline key task leaders, and meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare project specifications, compile and analyze data, and prepare complete project documents, analysis, and reports.
  • Analyze and interpret data, perform design, planning, and impact studies, and cost analyses.
  • Design complete projects, systems, components, or processes, and prepare project documents, engineering analysis, and reports.
  • Perform quality control reviews, ensure achievement of key milestones, and conduct field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects.
  • Formulate and solve problems with timely and innovative solutions.
  • Maintain professional registration and licensure, and remain knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • PE licensure.
  • Proficient in production software and construction document production.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
