The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Highway Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our transportation infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading roadway and highway analysis and design efforts, as well as providing technical guidance to junior staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to grow their skills and work on exciting projects. You will have the chance to work on conventional and general engineering consultant and/or design-build projects for GDOT, county, and municipal clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading roadway and highway analysis and design efforts
  • Providing technical guidance to junior staff
  • Monitoring labor budgets and schedules for assigned tasks/projects
  • Coordinating with discipline key task leaders and staff to ensure ongoing communications
  • Meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets for assigned projects
  • Supporting marketing and business development initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience
  • Georgia PE licensure
  • Proven experience leading and/or providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff
  • Proven experience participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans
  • Proficient in construction document production
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GDOT experience
  • Experience working on General Engineering Consultant and/or Design-Build contracts
