The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Highway Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our transportation infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading roadway and highway analysis and design efforts on conventional and general engineering consultant and/or design-build projects for GDOT, county, and municipal clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading roadway and highway analysis and design efforts
  • Developing specifications, reports, and estimates for projects
  • Monitoring labor budgets and schedules for assigned tasks/projects
  • Coordinating with discipline key task leaders and staff to ensure ongoing communications
  • Meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets for assigned projects
  • Supporting marketing and business development initiatives
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience
  • Georgia PE licensure
  • Proven experience leading and/or providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff
  • Proven experience participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans
  • Proficient in construction document production
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience working on GDOT projects and General Engineering Consultant and/or Design-Build contracts is highly desirable.
