Responsibilities

As a Hospice Nursing Aide, you will play a vital role in providing personal care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and maintaining hygiene
  • Changing bed linens and clothing as needed
  • Supporting family members in caring for their loved ones by providing guidance on basic health-care routines
  • Regularly communicating with supervising registered nurses to update them on patient progress and family needs

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct patient care within a healthcare facility (hospital or nursing home)
  • 1 year of experience in the last 5 years in direct patient care in a home health or hospice environment
  • Completion of a training and competency evaluation program that adheres to federal and state regulations
  • Registration and good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment

Additionally, candidates must possess a valid state driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. The ability to recognize and respond to the needs of patients, maintain positive relationships, and effectively communicate observations to supervisors is essential.
