Key Responsibilities

As a Hospice Nursing Aide, you will play a vital role in assisting patients with personal care needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Changing bed linens and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment
  • Supporting families in caring for their loved ones by offering guidance on basic health-care routines
  • Collaborating with registered nurses to monitor patient progress and communicate family needs

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct patient care within a healthcare facility
  • At least 1 year of experience in home health or hospice care within the last 5 years
  • Completion of a training and competency evaluation program that adheres to federal and state regulations
  • Current registration and good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment

Additionally, candidates must possess a valid state driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to recognize and respond to the needs of patients and families are essential.
