Retirement Solutions Advisor

Position Overview
The Retirement Solutions Advisor collaborates with the Senior Consultant to leverage specialized expertise and skills acquired through experience and training to manage both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. This role encompasses all facets of plan architecture, compliance evaluation, daily operations, and nurturing client relationships. The advisor employs robust analytical skills to investigate and propose potential strategies to the Senior Consultant to address client requirements. Continuous personal and professional development is essential, with a focus on enhancing consulting capabilities through ongoing education and practical experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Consultant in various tasks with the objective of ultimately managing a portfolio of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans independently.
- Execute project assignments autonomously while receiving guidance from a Senior Consultant for newly allocated responsibilities.
- Engage with clients to discuss all dimensions of plan architecture.
- Supervise daily operations, annual compliance assessments, Form 5500 preparation, trust accounting, participant notifications, and plan documentation.
- Foster client relationships to guarantee the delivery of superior quality services.
- Anticipate client requirements and devise solutions to address client challenges.
- Guide and mentor junior analysts.
- Prepare and verify deliverables for precision and quality assurance.
- Take charge of personal and professional growth; actively seek opportunities for skill enhancement and consulting experience.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
- Ability to conduct compliance evaluations, discuss plan architecture, prepare annual reports, and complete DOL and IRS documentation with support from the Senior Consultant as necessary.
- Capability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, work independently, and drive assignments to completion with assistance from the Senior Consultant as needed.
- Proficient in operating standard office equipment and utilizing necessary software applications, including Microsoft Office and established databases.
- Familiarity with the Relius recordkeeping system is preferred.
Skill in
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
Ability to
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to research and identify potential strategies to discuss with the Senior Consultant to meet client needs.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a relevant field.
- 3 - 4 years of experience in the retirement sector, with client-facing experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
• QKA or QPA designation is preferred.
