Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Policy and Programs Associate to support our team in influencing public policy, developing educational content, and managing events. As a Policy and Programs Associate, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Serving as a point of contact for incoming fundraising calls and maintaining records of solicitations from congressional candidates.
  • Coordinating attendance by NARFE representatives at congressional fundraisers and consulting with state-level NARFE-PAC coordinators to obtain recommendations for/against providing PAC contributions.
  • Preparing reports of proposed disbursements from NARFE-PAC for PAC Board approval and developing reports of PAC disbursements and aggregate contributions from members.
  • Assisting in development of content for and implementation of direct mail and digital fundraising efforts and drafting action alerts and letters to encourage members to contact their lawmakers.
  • Maintaining records of grassroots activities conducted by NARFE leaders and preparing issue briefs and fact sheets for use in lobbying and grassroots advocacy.
  • Assisting association members with general legislative and grassroots inquiries and with requests for material and information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in policy analysis, program management, or related fields.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications and knowledge of social, economic, and political issues affecting the organization's mission.

NARFE HQ is a hybrid working environment with a structured schedule. Salary Range

The starting rate is $55,000 - $65,000 annually, with consideration given to relevant experience/skills. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors.
