Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for the Home Services Manager role will be a detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication abilities, responsible for overseeing daily departmental operations through the following tasks:

  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance to technicians, ensuring team and client needs are met. Involvement in the recruitment and training of technicians is essential for ongoing growth and superior performance.
  • Supervise technicians to guarantee effective execution of equipment repairs, installations, and related duties.

Additional Duties

  • Evaluate technicians' work to confirm compliance with quality standards and safety protocols; offer suggestions for enhancing quality and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for technicians, setting improvement objectives aligned with company standards.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive training program to ensure direct reports are well-versed in the latest techniques and safety measures.
  • Facilitate group and individual meetings with technicians for training, assessments, and communication purposes.
  • Maintain regular communication with dispatchers to ensure proper scheduling based on skill levels and training needs.
  • Engage in budget development and monitoring to ensure departmental success.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies by direct reports.
  • Oversee the condition of service vehicles to guarantee operational efficiency and maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and materials.
  • Assist in identifying system replacement opportunities and promoting maintenance/service agreements.
  • Collaborate with other departmental managers to achieve company objectives.
  • Perform other necessary tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Qualifications

The Home Services Manager should have a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role and demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in Home Services Management or a related field (e.g., Plumbing, HVAC).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and generator systems.
  • Ability to interpret and utilize manuals and schematics effectively.
  • Technical aptitude with a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven leadership skills to boost team productivity and work quality.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in common office software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A strong personal commitment to improvement and motivating team members.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, instilling pride in work among others.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
