- Conducts patient assessments through interviews and physical examinations to identify medical and surgical conditions.
- Maintains and reviews patient medical and surgical histories.
- Ensures continuity of care by developing and implementing management plans for patients.
- Orders and administers diagnostic tests, interpreting results to determine abnormalities.
- Provides pre- and post-operative care, including patient education.
- Administers therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, and wound care.
- Conducts hospital rounds for surgical consultations and pre- and post-operative patients.
- Assists supervising physician with discharge services, including planning and summaries.
- Serves as a surgical first-assist during procedures.
- Handles patient positioning and assists in maintaining workflow in clinical and surgical settings.
- Participates in on-call services supporting the supervising physician.
- Provides emergency care related to surgical specialties.
- Instructs and counsels patients and their families as needed.
- Documents patient care services accurately in records.
- Contributes to the effectiveness of the supervising physician by identifying patient care issues and facilitating staff development.
- Serves as a preceptor for advanced practice nurse practitioner students.
- Implements protocols to enhance workflows and efficiency.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Supports a culture of safety and quality to protect patients and staff.
- Adheres to privacy guidelines and ethical standards.
- Complies with legal and professional requirements through ongoing education.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Studies
- Two years of experience in cardiology, cardiovascular, or related surgical specialty
Licensure, Certification, or Registration:
- State of Florida ARNP Licensure
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Continuing education required to maintain licensure
Job Summary:
Provides medical treatment under physician supervision for AdventHealth Medical Group. Conducts patient examinations, follow-ups, and develops treatment plans while counseling patients. This role involves working with complex surgical patients both pre- and post-operatively and assisting in major surgical procedures.
