Position Overview:
This full-time role involves providing medical care under the supervision of physicians within the AdventHealth Medical Group. The position requires conducting patient assessments, formulating treatment plans, and offering patient education, particularly for complex surgical cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, ensuring a respectful and courteous environment.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the practice and across departments.

- Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations, identifying medical and surgical conditions.
- Collect and analyze patient medical histories to inform care strategies.
- Create and implement patient management plans to ensure continuity of care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory studies, to determine abnormalities.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, including patient education and support.
- Administer therapeutic procedures, manage drains, and perform wound care in various settings.
- Conduct hospital rounds for surgical consultations and patient follow-ups.
- Assist supervising physicians with discharge planning and coordination of post-discharge care.
- Serve as a surgical first-assist during procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all policies and regulations.
- Support a culture of safety and quality, prioritizing patient and employee well-being.
- Document patient care services accurately in medical records.
- Mentor advanced practice nurse practitioner students and contribute to their educational growth.
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain licensure and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Studies.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology, cardiovascular, or related surgical specialties.
- Valid State of Florida ARNP Licensure.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
