Position Overview

As a Senior Quantum Research Scientist at Amazon, you will be part of a pioneering team dedicated to advancing quantum computing technologies. This role is integral to the AWS Center for Quantum Computing, where you will engage in groundbreaking research and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative calibration and optimization techniques for large-scale quantum processors.
  • Lead high-impact research initiatives that align with our engineering objectives.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to enhance quantum processor control and error correction methodologies.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of post-PhD or industry experience in experimental quantum computing.
  • Hands-on experience in calibrating multi-qubit systems.
  • Expertise in qubit benchmarking and tomographic protocols.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming environments.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-team project collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of superconducting qubits and microwave control techniques.
  • Experience with quantum error correction circuit implementation.
  • Familiarity with automated quantum processor optimization.
  • Ability to simulate basic quantum systems.
