POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, management, and execution of the design and construction processes essential for delivering a premier Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging experience. This role involves active engagement in utility discussions to secure necessary services and enhance project execution through collaboration with field teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Design Build Services (DBS) Team and various stakeholders to ensure EV projects are executed within established scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Thoroughly review project-specific contracts to understand processes and exceed expectations.
  • Work closely with internal and external design and engineering teams to produce construction drawings that align with customer specifications.
  • Act as the primary liaison with utility companies to manage service applications and oversee the utility upgrade process.
  • Conduct research and submit necessary applications and drawings to local permitting agencies prior to construction commencement.
  • Evaluate electrical equipment submittals in conjunction with the engineering team and procure essential electrical and charging equipment from vendors.
  • Draft and assess Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for construction, analyzing competitive bids for quality and value to recommend General Contractor selections.
  • Continuously update and coordinate project schedules, ensuring timely management of internal and external factors.
  • Facilitate meetings with customers to maintain open communication lines and document all meeting minutes clearly.
  • Conduct bi-weekly budget reviews, managing Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) for all projects, ensuring timely billing and tracking of vendor payments.
  • Oversee the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processes with support from engineering and construction teams.
  • Negotiate with utilities, contractors, and customers to achieve satisfactory technical and economic solutions.
  • Supervise the construction phase through regular site visits and communication with customers, coordinating with design and engineering teams to address issues promptly.
  • Provide financial project reviews and assist with final project closeout documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project, with the ability to compose professional correspondence.
  • Strive to enhance efficiencies across internal departments for ongoing process improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a 4-year bachelor's degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field with Project Management experience.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in EV charging project management, utility coordination, site design, and construction.
  • 5+ years managing multifaceted EV projects, encompassing technical, execution, and financial dimensions.
  • Experience working with local project Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proven experience in leading charging network deployment initiatives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the current public fast charging landscape.

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, with some bending and stooping required.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision is necessary.
