POSITION SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in a dynamic environment, overseeing the planning, management, and execution of the design and construction processes essential for delivering an exceptional Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging experience. This role involves engaging in utility discussions to secure necessary services and enhancing project execution through collaboration with field teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Design Build Services (DBS) Team and various stakeholders to ensure EV projects are completed within the defined scope, budget, and timelines.
- Analyze all project-specific contracts to understand processes and exceed expectations.
- Work closely with internal and external design and engineering teams to produce construction drawings that meet all specifications.
- Act as the primary liaison with utility companies to facilitate service applications and manage the upgrade process.
- Conduct research and submit necessary applications and drawings to local permitting agencies prior to construction.
- Review equipment submittals with the engineering team and procure major electrical and charging equipment from vendors.
- Prepare and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for construction, assessing competitive bids for value and execution.
- Maintain and update project schedules by coordinating internal and external factors effectively.
- Organize and lead meetings with customers to ensure clear communication and document all meeting outcomes.
- Conduct bi-weekly budget reviews, managing Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) to ensure timely billing and payment tracking.
- Oversee the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processes with support from engineering and construction teams.
- Negotiate with utilities, contractors, and customers to achieve satisfactory technical and economic solutions.
- Monitor the construction phase through site visits and regular communication with customers, addressing issues promptly to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Provide financial project reviews and assist with final project closeout documentation.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project, with the ability to draft professional correspondence.
- Foster efficiencies between departments for ongoing process improvement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a 4-year bachelor's degree.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field with project management experience.
Required Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in managing EV charging projects, utility coordination, site design, and construction.
- Experience in overseeing multi-faceted EV projects encompassing technical, execution, and financial dimensions.
- 5+ years of experience working with local project authorities, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven track record in leading charging network deployments.
- In-depth understanding of the current public fast charging landscape.
