POSITION SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in a vibrant team, overseeing the planning, management, and execution of the design and construction processes necessary to deliver an exceptional Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging experience. This position involves engaging in utility discussions to secure new services and enhancing project execution while collaborating closely with the field execution team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Design Build Services (DBS) Team and stakeholders to ensure EV projects are completed within the defined scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Analyze all project-specific contracts to fully understand processes and procedures, aiming to exceed expectations.
  • Work alongside internal and external design and engineering teams to produce EV charging construction drawings that align with customer specifications.
  • Act as the primary liaison with utility companies, managing applications for service and overseeing the utility upgrade process.
  • Conduct research and complete applications for Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), submitting necessary drawings to local permitting agencies before construction begins.
  • Review electrical equipment submissions with the engineering team and procure major electrical and charging equipment from vendors.
  • Draft and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for construction, assessing competitive bids for quality, value, and execution to recommend General Contractor selections.
  • Continuously update and coordinate internal and external factors to manage project schedules effectively.
  • Facilitate meetings with customers to maintain open communication with the project team, ensuring thorough documentation of all meeting minutes.
  • Conduct bi-weekly reviews of project budgets, including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely billing and tracking of vendor invoice payments.
  • Manage the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processes with support from the engineering and construction teams.
  • Negotiate with utilities, contractors, and customers to achieve satisfactory technical and economic solutions.
  • Oversee the construction phase through regular site visits and communication with customers, coordinating with design and engineering teams to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide financial project reviews and support for final project closeout documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project, with the ability to compose professional correspondence.
  • Work towards creating efficiencies between internal departments for ongoing process improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a 4-year bachelor's degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field with experience in Project Management.

Required Experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in managing EV charging projects, utility coordination, site design, and construction.
  • Experience in overseeing multi-faceted EV projects, including technical, execution, and financial aspects.
  • Familiarity with local project AHJ, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A proven track record in leading charging network deployment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the current public fast charging landscape.

Physical Demands:

  • Travel is required, approximately 50% of the time.
  • Prolonged sitting, some bending, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision is essential.
