Position Overview:
This role requires on-site presence as determined by management discretion.

Contract Duration:
Initial term of 6 months with potential for extension. Parking facilities are available for contractors.

Role Summary:
The Applications Support Specialist will deliver technical assistance for various third-party applications and the ERP system (Banner) as necessary.

This position acts as the primary support liaison for systems such as KRONOS, Adirondack, Blackboard, Atrium, EMS, Rave, and other applications outside the ERP framework.

The specialist will collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.

Responsibilities include ensuring applications are current and implementing necessary upgrades in accordance with IT policies.

The role may involve data extraction from diverse systems to generate tailored reports for clients and facilitate data feeds to local systems.

Collaborate with departmental staff and faculty to identify, develop, and implement process enhancements. Define project scope and objectives; assess programming requirements; estimate project timelines; and devise solutions to identified challenges. Prepare detailed technical specifications.

Review, analyze, and create comprehensive technical documentation; guide and oversee project team members to ensure adherence to established standards.

Engage with IT project teams to review use cases and technical documents, ensuring complete business requirements are incorporated into planning documents.

Develop effective reporting tools for business units. Analyze departmental activities and trends.

This position entails conducting business process evaluations across various departments to gain insights into their policies and procedures.

Maintain an understanding of university data and schemas, continuously assessing and enhancing data quality and workflows. Foster positive relationships with university administration, faculty, and staff. Participate in or provide consultation for committees, user groups, or specialized IT seminars that support administrative applications.

Monitor and engage in new software installations and upgrades as outlined in project plans.

Assist with the adaptation and upgrades of database server software. Support duties assigned by the Director of Application Services and collaborate with the Senior Applications Support team to evaluate services, standards, and best practices, making informed recommendations.
