Bilingual Youth Care Specialist

CHRIS 180 Migrant Wellness Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Youth Care Worker to provide 24-hour care for unaccompanied children under the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing stabilization, behavioral support, and comprehensive case management to our youth. Responsibilities- Provide direct care to children and adolescents in placement, including documentation, activities, supervision, and safety.
- Build relationships, understand and solve problems in a team dynamic, and offer energy, security, and commitment in your work with our youth.
- Direct supervision of youth and administrative responsibilities such as incident reporting, case notes, and transportation to medical appointments.
- Assess youth history of trauma, strengths, and needs, and assist in administering SFSS.
- Support youth's health, well-being, education, mental health, and reunification needs.
- Participate in Team Meetings for all youth, and collaborate with other programs in the CHRIS 180 continuum to provide services to residents.
- Monitor the provision of services provided, including medical and behavioral health services.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, consistent, and caring atmosphere for youth in care.
- Support the consistent rhythms and routines of the home, and responsible for transportation to and communication with the school environment.
- Care for program facilities and equipment, and perform household tasks and duties as assigned or needed.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree is required.
- Advanced education is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of child welfare experience working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting is required.
- Prior experience working with the immigrant/refugee population is strongly preferred.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit; use finger dexterity, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to move or lift items up to 25 pounds in weight.
- Must pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- $20.00/hr. and $1,500.00 New Hire Sign-On Bonus.
- On-site schedule with varying hours from week to week, with a maximum of 40 hours a week at any given time.
