Position Overview
Are you passionate about youth development through sports? The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is seeking dedicated individuals to assist in delivering community-based soccer programs aimed at engaging and educating young athletes.
As an AYSO PLAY Youth Soccer Coach, successful candidates will contribute to the execution of coach training, facilitate on-field soccer sessions, and support year-round programming efforts.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a collaborative environment, advancing the organization's mission to promote youth soccer and serve as a representative of AYSO within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support soccer coaching initiatives during school hours and community events.
- Design and implement age-appropriate activities in line with AYSO's educational framework.
- Monitor and document attendance for programs and events.
- Build strong relationships with school staff, students, and families.
- Act as a representative of AYSO in the local community.
- Embrace and promote the organization's core philosophies.
Qualifications
- Community-focused mindset with a commitment to enhancing youth programs.
- Strong enthusiasm for soccer, education, and child development.
- Self-motivated, organized, and confident problem-solver.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster relationships with parents, players, and program partners.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in coordinating and completing tasks efficiently.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Minimum of two years of coaching experience.
- Possession of a US Soccer Grassroots license or equivalent.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Understanding of social and emotional learning outcomes is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel locally to various program sites.
- Visual acuity to ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Effective communication skills for conducting training sessions.
Work Environment
- Work is conducted in a home office setting and on-site for training and events.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Business-related travel expenses will be reimbursed.
