Role Summary:
The CHRIS 180 Migrant Wellness Program is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for unaccompanied minors under the supervision of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Our program focuses on stabilization, behavioral support, case management, educational assistance, daily living skills, and therapeutic activities within a nurturing environment.

As a caregiver, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that include documentation, activity planning, supervision, and ensuring safety. Given the complex backgrounds of the youth we serve, it is essential to foster meaningful relationships, engage in problem-solving, and provide a secure and supportive atmosphere. This role also involves administrative tasks such as incident reporting and coordinating medical appointments.

Key Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Modeling positive behaviors for youth.
  • Encouraging self-esteem and healthy boundaries.
  • Promoting good hygiene and personal appearance.
  • Reinforcing socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Facilitating thoughtful decision-making.
  • Assessing individual trauma histories and needs.
  • Assisting in the administration of SFSS.

Essential Duties:

  • Support youth in meeting their health, educational, and mental health needs.
  • Engage in team meetings for all youth.
  • Collaborate with other programs to enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor the quality of services provided, including health care.
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for youth.
  • Maintain routines and structure within the home.
  • Facilitate transportation to educational settings.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of facilities.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and provide life skills training.
  • Conduct safety inspections and manage potential hazards.
  • Implement de-escalation strategies and interventions.
  • Assist with daily routines, including personal care and chores.
  • Plan and engage youth in skill-building activities.
  • Work collaboratively to identify and address youth needs.
  • Ensure timely access to medical and behavioral health services.
  • Assist in maintaining communication with stakeholders.

Documentation Responsibilities:

  • Record significant incidents in the designated system promptly.
  • Document all medical and dental appointments accurately.
  • Maintain detailed case notes for visits and meetings.
  • Ensure the accuracy of medication administration records.

Professional Conduct:

  • Uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Contribute to a safe environment for all stakeholders.
  • Adhere to agency compliance standards and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in child welfare or social services.
  • Experience with immigrant or refugee populations preferred.
  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Compensation: $24.00/hr. with a $1,500.00 Sign-On Bonus

Work Schedule:
This position requires on-site availability with a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which may include lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in various physical activities.

This position is grant-funded and requires on-site presence.
