About the Role

As an Energy Sector Analyst at Octopus Energy Group, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging technology to drive significant advancements in the energy landscape. Our company is dedicated to developing a smart and sustainable energy ecosystem that optimizes renewable generation, enhances grid intelligence, and empowers utilities to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Team Overview

Our Industry Analytics division is a newly formed area within the Industry Implementation product group. We aim to establish a robust foundation of energy industry expertise across various markets. As an Industry Analyst, you will utilize your specialized knowledge to identify and address critical challenges faced by our clients and end consumers. Your responsibilities will include managing industry data effectively and collaborating with Tech and Product teams to create efficient and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize your in-depth understanding of local energy stakeholders, regulatory frameworks, and data exchange processes to:
  • Identify and take ownership of issues, conducting thorough root cause analyses and ensuring resolution.
  • Assist in troubleshooting errors and discrepancies in industry communications.
  • Monitor the performance of Kraken's industry products to proactively identify and resolve issues, safeguarding consumer experiences.
  • Assess compliance requirements and implement necessary changes in collaboration with Tech, considering available resources and timelines.
  • Engage with tech, product teams, and clients to identify enhancements or new features needed in Kraken's offerings.
  • Gather requirements, outline strategies, and assist in drafting project proposals to facilitate efficient project initiation.
  • Prioritize initiatives that focus on delivering meaningful and valuable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, including monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Create frameworks and documentation to support self-service capabilities within the organization.
  • Explore new technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of the Energy Industry within your local market, particularly from the supplier's perspective.
  • Strong attention to detail to identify and rectify errors effectively.
  • A curious mindset with a passion for problem-solving.
  • A data-driven approach with a focus on outcomes, understanding priorities and timelines.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and the identification of automation opportunities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and clearly define problems.
  • Project management skills with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • A desire to learn across various domains.
  • Strong listening skills to harness innovative ideas from diverse sources.
  • Willingness to work from our designated office location.
