Position Title:
Financial Analyst - Oil & Gas Marketing

Department:

Marketing-Finance Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Analyst to become a vital part of the IEMUS team, focusing on various financial operations, accounting, reporting, and special initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly closing procedures in collaboration with the UK-based accounting team (including intercompany records, journal entries, inventory accounting, etc.).
  • Generate monthly management reports for integration into INEOS Energy Group and/or INEOS Group reports.
  • Review financial statements to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Analyze processes to identify opportunities for enhancing profit margins.
  • Act as the primary contact for both internal and external financial stakeholders.
  • Perform analyses on issues affecting the marketing division and proactively seek improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare regulatory filings (e.g., FERC 552) or INEOS financial submissions as necessary.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with local management to prepare and submit templates to INEOS Energy Group and/or INEOS Group.
  • Monitor actual expenses against budget forecasts.
  • Assist the INEOS Energy Group finance and treasury teams with daily cash management and general treasury functions.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the IEMUS team through the development of models and analytical tools.
  • Effectively communicate financial insights to management and stakeholders.
  • Assign codes, identify accounts, and validate accurate account bookings.
  • Support the team with financial modeling and cash flow analysis for value-added projects, including M&A and strategic planning (IRR, netback, NPV).
  • Create reports using Power BI or other data visualization tools to facilitate analysis and decision-making.
  • Enhance and streamline business processes leveraging extensive oil & gas financial knowledge and advanced IT skills.
  • Serve as a liaison between the IEMUS team and IT as required.
  • Assist in reviewing supplier statements with a general understanding of gas and oil marketing contracts.
  • Maintain oversight of forecasts and cash flow sensitivities.
  • Provide ad hoc support for INEOS Energy group projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a recognized equivalent professional qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the US energy sector is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in developing and utilizing modeling tools to present outcomes clearly and concisely.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated expertise in principles, design, and methodologies for big data analysis.
  • Ability to extract and analyze data from SQL to create reports using internal data systems.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative team player.

Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation information provided below is a good faith estimate for this position and is in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) and Equal Pay Transparency Rules.

It is based on what a successful applicant in Colorado might expect to earn. Similar roles outside of Colorado may not offer the same compensation.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position typically ranges from $95,000 to $144,000, with the potential for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus of up to 24% of eligible pay.

Depending on skill level and experience, this role may also be eligible for the Long-Term Incentive Plan, which includes annual awards vesting over three years, ranging from 8-16% of the stated annual target.

These ranges are estimates based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance metrics, and other legally permissible considerations.

The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as allowed by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
