Electronics Signal Processing Specialist

Position Overview:
We are in search of a Signal Processing Engineer to join our team, contributing to various engineering initiatives and programs.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, innovative individual with a strong background in electrical engineering, possessing a BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
This role offers the opportunity to engage in stimulating and technically demanding research and development projects, where collaborative teams work together to tackle significant national security challenges.
Applicants will have the chance to work alongside experts in the field, making impactful contributions to project objectives.
This position provides exposure to all stages of the R&D process, from fundamental analysis to the prototyping and testing of integrated systems.
The selected candidate will assist senior engineers with a range of engineering tasks, including the design, development, assembly, and testing of intricate electromechanical and autonomous sensor systems.
A strong proficiency in MATLAB and digital signal processing techniques is essential, along with relevant programming experience (e.g., C/C++/VHDL).
A basic understanding of electronic laboratory testing tools is also necessary.The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, and will receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, analysis, and engineering of advanced prototype electronic systems
- Assist in the assembly and evaluation of electronic systems
- Participate in experiments, data collection, and result presentation
- Help design and implement algorithms on embedded platforms
- Travel for experimental and testing events
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of signal processing and algorithm implementation
- Proficient MATLAB user for analysis, data processing, and visualization
- Understanding of filtering techniques, matched filtering, FFTs, digital conversion, and modulation schemes
- Experience with C/C++ programming
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Xilinx SoCs and the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite
- Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting electronics in a lab setting
This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements.
