POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to take on the role of Lead Maritime Systems Scientist. This position involves spearheading the design and development of cutting-edge maritime technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Innovative System Design: Engage in the design and development of pioneering maritime systems (50%)
  • Project Leadership: Oversee project initiatives and lead teams effectively (25%)
  • Business Development: Contribute to proposal writing, marketing strategies, and new business acquisition efforts (25%)

QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • PhD in electrical, ocean, or mechanical engineering, acoustics, or a related discipline
  • Expertise in areas such as digital communications, maritime hardware design, robotics, and acoustic signal processing
  • Proven experience in marine hardware or system design, including sensor arrays and data acquisition systems
  • Strong background in proposal writing and leading business development initiatives
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital and analog circuits
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and presentations
  • Experience in fielding systems, conducting prototype demonstrations, and analyzing data for performance evaluation
  • Proficient in Matlab programming
  • Several years of experience in developing or designing sonar and communications systems
  • Experience as a principal investigator on R&D projects for defense-related organizations
  • Familiarity with designing electronic and software systems for various maritime applications
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Linux programming
  • Knowledge of underwater propagation models and wireless communication channel simulations
  • Experience with acoustic modems and adaptive equalization algorithms
  • Background in the design and development of underwater acoustic sensors
  • Experience in creating technical documentation for new products and business initiatives
  • Track record of presenting at technical conferences
