We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As a key member of our Electronic Development Lab, you will provide technical guidance and oversight of new, repaired, and modified components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight of new, repaired, and modified components
- Identify drawings, troubleshoot with schematics, and request applicable Production Test Procedures (PTDs) or Engineering Test Documents (ETDs)
- Assist staff in conducting test procedures, reviewing test data, and providing ship out instructions and recording shipping documents
- Schedule and attend kickoff meetings, evaluate system requirements, and provide technical guidance to technicians
- Work with supervision to determine priorities, develop schedules, and manage workload
- Recommend and implement process improvement initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Secret clearance
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work
- Ability to direct others to accomplish tasks
- Technical background in submarine systems and components and/or submarine operational experience (highly desired)
- Working knowledge of special emphasis programs (DSS-SOC, SUBSAFE, and Fly-by-Wire) requirements (desired)
