POSITION SUMMARY

The primary focus of this role is to enhance electrical, automation, and control solutions across various product lines within the Fluid Motion Solutions division at NOV. We are seeking a proactive and innovative engineer who can work independently while fostering effective communication with both internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate should possess a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to solution development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop software using various programming languages tailored for equipment and applications.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of commissioning and software documentation, ensuring updates are made post-release.
  • Lead the design team in producing electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, cabling layouts, and assembly drawings.
  • Provide assistance for the implementation, training, and troubleshooting of software and hardware assembly products.
  • Conduct software development and debugging prior to product release.
  • Collaborate with customers to review project specifications and generate internal project estimates.
  • Engage in design reviews and participate in customer sales discussions.
  • Design and program Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for various applications.
  • Deliver field support at customer locations, including remote sites in challenging climates and environments.
  • Perform additional work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all NOV Company and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Follow NOV processes to document projects and components utilized.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Engineering Technology degrees are also acceptable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing control systems and programming PLC and HMI interfaces.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Engineering with a focus on budget management.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area standards, including ATEX, IECEx, and NEC.
  • Experience with large-scale control systems such as Siemens, Beckhoff, or LabView platforms.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Flexibility for travel is essential, ranging from 20% to 30%, covering both domestic and international locations. Responsibilities during travel will include customer training, product installation, commissioning, and addressing system issues. Work environments will vary from office settings to challenging outdoor locations, potentially involving safety hazards.

Applicants must be prepared for fluctuations in travel requirements based on evolving business needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate adaptability to diverse working conditions and a commitment to ensuring the successful implementation and support of our solutions globally.
