The Senior Program Coordinator for the Recycling Initiative will manage and direct all facets of our nationwide consumer battery recycling initiative. This role requires exceptional organizational abilities, experience in project oversight, familiarity with federal grant management, and a commitment to sustainability. The Senior Program Coordinator will oversee the daily functions of the program, including the deployment of collection points, training programs, community collaborations, and adherence to grant stipulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute strategies to improve the productivity and effectiveness of the national consumer battery recycling initiative.
- Supervise the planning, organization, and implementation of collection point installations across selected retail locations.
- Evaluate program performance indicators and deliver regular updates to management regarding progress and results.
- Maintain ongoing communication with franchisees and retail locations concerning program developments, requirements, and best practices.
- Create educational materials and resources for collection point personnel and volunteers.
- Conduct training sessions to inform stakeholders about proper battery handling, sorting, and recycling methods.
- Partner with educational institutions and community organizations to enhance awareness and participation in the recycling initiative.
- Build and sustain relationships with community stakeholders, including local governments, businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofit entities.
- Organize outreach events and campaigns to promote battery recycling and stimulate community engagement.
- Engage in public speaking opportunities and presentations to advocate for the program and its environmental advantages.
- Ensure adherence to grant obligations and reporting requirements.
- Draft grant proposals and funding requests to facilitate program growth and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor expenditures and maintain precise records to support grant auditing and reporting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, sustainability, public administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, grant oversight, environmental education, or similar fields.
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and fostering productive partnerships.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices related to waste management and recycling.
- Experience in grant writing, budget oversight, and compliance with grant conditions.
- A demonstrated commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives is preferred.
