The role of the Eligibility Coordinator is essential in managing member and group enrollments with precision and effectiveness. This position requires meticulous attention to detail in maintaining enrollment records, addressing eligibility questions, and working collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners to resolve any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input new member or group information into the enrollment system, ensuring data integrity.
  • Update records to reflect any changes in member or group status promptly.
  • Address inquiries regarding member eligibility and provide detailed information on enrollment status.
  • Oversee various member communication forms and prepare membership data reports as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve eligibility discrepancies by reviewing transaction data and implementing retroactive eligibility adjustments.
  • Lead projects and manage timelines related to enrollment processes effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments within S&S Health to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Engage with external vendors and networks to address enrollment and eligibility challenges.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration or insurance-related fields.
  • Solid understanding of eligibility regulations and familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry in Excel and document management in Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with a capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to meeting job expectations and deadlines.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a focus on resolving issues for both internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of COBRA processes and the ability to manage COBRA payments in line with plan requirements.
  • Experience in customer service, particularly in handling enrollment-related inquiries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for report generation and data analysis.
  • A High School diploma is required; additional education beyond high school is preferred.
