Position Overview:
The Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer will be responsible for the design and oversight of various projects, potentially leading a team of Electrical and I&C Engineers and designers throughout project phases. This role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including both conceptual and detailed design of electronic systems and equipment. The Engineer will handle complex assignments with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directing the electrical and instrumentation engineering team within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting, focusing on advanced electrical distribution and control systems.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for clients, project management, procurement teams, and other engineering disciplines regarding project electrical and I&C systems.
  • Creating foundational documents for electrical and instrumentation controls, including scope of work and design criteria.
  • Drafting equipment specifications for electrical components such as power transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and additional auxiliary electrical apparatus.
  • Formulating specifications for I&C equipment, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems, along with instrument datasheets.
  • Producing electrical and I&C wiring schematics, cabinet layouts, and network diagrams.
  • Ensuring the technical precision and adherence to project design standards of all engineered deliverables.
  • Utilizing appropriate procedures, design guidelines, and tools throughout project execution.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, along with State of Tennessee Professional Engineer Licensure (or the ability to obtain it). A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in nuclear-related design (NQA-1, NRTL, etc.) is required. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in electrical distribution systems across various voltages (120 VAC, 480 VAC, 4160 VAC, and 13 KV), as well as experience with power analysis design software (ETAP or SKM Power Tools). Familiarity with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and capability in instrumentation selection and datasheet preparation is essential. Expertise in Control System Design (PLC, DCS) is also necessary. Please note that this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
