Position Summary


The Experienced Driver Recruitment Specialist plays a vital role in expanding Covenant Logistics Group's fleet of skilled, safety-focused driving professionals.

Recruiters will focus on evaluating applicants, arranging orientation sessions, and maintaining communication with the most qualified candidates for available roles, adhering to DOT regulations and employment laws at both federal and state levels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate incoming driver candidate applications
  • Persuade suitable candidates to consider Covenant Logistics Group as their next employer by effectively conveying the opportunities related to compensation, benefits, and organizational culture
  • Manage both outbound and inbound communication
  • Conduct phone interviews to pre-qualify candidates
  • Reduce the number of disqualified applicants
  • Perform background checks to accurately verify candidate qualifications
  • Generate various reports necessary for driver qualification
  • Input qualified leads into the applicant database, ensuring all verification details are accurately recorded
  • Follow up with candidates to update them on their application status
  • Schedule approved candidates for orientation sessions
  • Independently manage time and resources to achieve designated performance metrics for the assigned area
  • Document all recruitment activities and application statuses in the ATS
  • Utilize the ATS for candidate correspondence, follow-ups, and rescheduling
  • Provide weekly feedback on lead quality and numbers
  • Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Participate in company-sponsored motivational and educational programs
  • Engage with all new applicants or reapplicants within 24-36 hours
  • Understand job descriptions and the associated benefits and requirements for open positions
  • Maintain a consistent effort in developing an inbound/outbound candidate pipeline weekly
  • Perform other related duties as necessary to support the ongoing needs of Covenant Logistics Group

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with knowledge of web-based databases and programs; familiarity with Tenstreet and other modern recruitment software is preferred
  • Organized and effective under pressure, with accountability for results
  • Self-driven with strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of providing timely and valuable service to candidates and management
  • Experience in the transportation industry and knowledge of DOT regulations is advantageous
Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Preferred experience in sales or telemarketing

Covenant's compensation philosophy aims to establish a competitive total compensation strategy that reflects the current market value of a position while considering individual factors such as performance, tenure, experience, and level of responsibility.

The system is designed to be objective and non-discriminatory.

Pay Range:
$40,000.63-$62,120.37

Pay Grade: 6
