Position Summary

The Technical Sales Engineer for Aftermarket Solutions plays a crucial role in comprehending customer needs and technical specifications. This position is vital for the expansion of the Aftermarket Sales division. The engineer will be tasked with managing complex sales orders and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and promote company offerings.
  • Diagnose issues with existing equipment and recommend enhancements.
  • Document and present how proposed changes can reduce costs or boost efficiency.
  • Provide both technical and non-technical support to clients and internal teams regarding equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Assist the Aftermarket Sales team with technical sales support.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of job specifications as directed by the sales team.
  • Engage with suppliers and internal resources to troubleshoot and fulfill customer requirements.
  • Oversee project meetings with sales and service teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with the sales team for customer visits and participate in bid meetings as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to technical inquiries from customers and sales personnel.
  • Engage in direct communication with clients to resolve issues or complaints.
  • Prepare and distribute technical literature and promotional materials as required.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to enhance problem-solving and customer service.
  • Consult with management and industry representatives on business opportunities and challenges.
  • Assist in managing project orders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Advanced education in a relevant field is preferred, along with experience in application sales engineering or a similar technical role.

Specific Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in customer and vendor interactions.
  • Knowledge of pumping systems and related technologies.
  • Understanding of electric motors, variable frequency drives, and control systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficiency in computer applications.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include regular sitting, standing, and walking, as well as frequent use of hands for handling equipment. Effective communication is essential.
