The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or a related discipline, complemented by a minimum of one year of relevant experience in safety practices or as a Safety Officer. Alternatively, an Associate Degree in Safety or a related field, paired with two years of professional experience in safety roles, is acceptable.
Training as a Safety Officer may be considered as a substitute for formal educational qualifications.
Essential Training:
All candidates must complete the mandatory training outlined in Exhibit 5-4 of the Policy Requirements Handbook within the designated timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the American Board of Certified Safety Professionals or other relevant certifications, such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or the National Safety Council's Advanced Safety Certificate (ASC), is highly desirable.
Key Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal relations
Licenses and Certifications:
- A valid Regular Driver License is mandatory.
- Certification or the ability to obtain certification in CPR and first aid is required.
