Job Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our Corporate Environmental Services department. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and policies across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site visits to review and audit environmental compliance, provide awareness training, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist with completion and corrective actions related to the annual Environmental self-Review and environmental regulatory agency inspections.
  • Attend inspections by regulatory agencies and coordinate with maintenance staff to implement corrective actions.
  • Administer environmental training programs, monitor completion rates, and assess effectiveness during site visits.
  • Implement changes in operations and processes, ensuring field maintenance staff are trained in new procedures.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to request and oversee services related to compliance and environmental remediation.
  • Perform other environmental-related tasks requiring a field presence, such as UST/AST removals, stormwater, wastewater, air issues, spills, Phase I/IIs, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Occupational/Industrial Hygiene, or Safety.
  • 3+ years of experience in the environmental field with strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including storage tanks, waste management, stormwater, and wastewater.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), or Registered Environmental Professional (REP) certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal EPA and state-specific regulations, with the ability to develop solutions aligning with major responsibilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple inspections, corrective actions, relationships, and deadlines across multiple locations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with Smartsheet and EHS data management systems a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a diverse and multinational group of internal and external customers, vendors, and government agencies.

What We Offer:
