Desktop Support Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide IT support for our internal team members and contractors. This role will focus on escalation support, IT administration, and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop support, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting systems for both PC and Mac platforms.
  • Manage, diagnose, and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
  • Offer escalation support for Level 1 and Level 2 IT roles.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, A/V equipment, and office devices (printers, copiers, etc.).
  • Participate in IT-related projects and assist with project implementation and planning.
  • Provide support for telephony systems, including setup and configuration.
  • Maintain and audit IT hardware and software inventory, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Onboard new hires, assist with equipment procurement, and help maintain the technology infrastructure.
  • Write and process technical documentation for the IT Service Desk.
  • Act as a backup for managing service levels and reporting performance to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years of service desk or IT support experience, with 1-2 years of leadership or project management experience.
  • Proficiency in both Windows and Mac OS in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with various telephone phone systems (Avaya, Digium, Cisco, etc.).
  • Strong customer service skills, verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Certifications such as A+, Microsoft, or Google are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work onsite in Sacramento with occasional travel between locations.
