The Opportunity

Ally Insurance addresses the insurance requirements of our dealer partners through offerings such as dealer inventory insurance and liability protection. This role presents a unique chance to apply Financial Risk Management strategies within an insurance division of a prominent financial institution. The Ally Insurance Risk Management team is dedicated to establishing robust controls and tools to manage risks that could affect earnings, capital adequacy, liquidity, and reputation. Our goal is to identify, assess, and mitigate these risks through effective internal controls, timely management information, and the development of processes and metrics for exposure monitoring.

The Work Itself

- Conduct daily transaction and review assessments.

- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ally insurance products, operations, and workflows.

- Collaborate with management to develop annual scopes and plans, along with monthly productivity benchmarks.

- Prepare detailed reports of findings with actionable recommendations for individual or group initiatives.

- Stay informed about Ally's monitoring and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.

- Cultivate proactive working relationships with local management and staff.

- Update monitoring attributes as necessary.

- Engage in periodic calibration sessions with Business Line Risk and management.

- Assist the Business Line Risk manager in preparing and presenting plans and results to leadership on a monthly basis.

The Skills You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience (3 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree, including military service).

- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

- Familiarity with Ally Insurance products or experience in F&I or P&C business is preferred.

- Strong project management capabilities.

- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to comprehend risk and control concepts.

- Quick learner of new processes, systems, and controls.

- Experience in data analytics and critical thinking.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Willingness to travel (~5%).
