Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Cybersecurity Director, the Cybersecurity Risk Management Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping security strategies, policies, and addressing security challenges. This position is pivotal in enhancing the organization's security framework. Key responsibilities include conducting risk evaluations, overseeing security technologies and incidents, managing security breaches, and staying informed about the latest cybersecurity trends and innovations. The role also involves providing valuable insights and recommendations to the Cybersecurity Director for strategic planning, security operations, and resource management. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for developing security awareness initiatives across the organization.

Core Responsibilities
  • Research, propose, and assist in the deployment of cybersecurity solutions that align with organizational policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and business partners to ensure security considerations are integrated into the evaluation and selection of hardware and software.
  • Analyze and recommend enhancements to network, system, and application architectures.
  • Review network, server, and application logs to identify trends and potential security incidents.
  • Participate in the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and standards for system security and user access based on industry best practices.
  • Monitor compliance with established security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security audits and reviews of firewall and IPS policies.
  • Assist in responding to audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments to ensure the organization's infrastructure remains secure and compliant.
  • Advise the IT management team and Cybersecurity Director on governance processes related to security strategies.
  • Support security and networking teams in maintaining secure environments, including servers, network infrastructure, and security appliances.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or an Associate degree with relevant work experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in Information Security, complementing educational qualifications.
  • Technical expertise in network security, including VPN, firewalls, and intrusion detection.
  • Core knowledge of networking fundamentals and practical experience with database security and data loss prevention.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous learning in the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the public sector, particularly in pension and retirement funds.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO27001.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and security software.
  • Relevant security certifications are advantageous.
