Job Objective:
Supervise daily financial operations, encompassing invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and point of sale activities.

Guide the team in alignment with the policies and directives of The Salvation Army under the leadership of the Trade Central Business Manager.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily accounting functions and ensure that there is a backup process for all critical operations.

2. Execute daily POS and sales routines, providing results to management.

3. Monitor credit card transactions, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns, and miscellaneous charges.

4. Reconcile departmental accounts monthly and prepare reports for management review.

5. Maintain and update the general ledger and sales journals at month-end.

6. Supervise staff to ensure timely scanning and filing of all financial documents, maintaining an organized financial filing system.

7. Assist customers with inquiries related to invoices, statements, and payments, collaborating with AR personnel to manage customer accounts and contacting customers for overdue accounts.

8. Support vendors with inquiries regarding payment status, working with vendors and AP personnel in cases of discrepancies in product quantity or quality.

Offsite Responsibilities:
1. Aid in packing and unpacking merchandise for off-site events. Attend off-site events as required.

2. Travel to off-site events to set up, operate, inventory, and pack up the off-site store.

Additional Duties:
Participate in year-end inventory activities.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

2. Minimum of 4 years in a similar financial role; experience in a non-profit setting is preferred but not mandatory.

3. Experience in financial reporting and analysis is preferred.

OR:
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Skills Required:


Proficient in computer systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and accounting software. Knowledge of Acumatica is a plus.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.


Supervisory Role:
Oversee Billing Specialist/Store Clerk and Accounts Receivable/Inventory Specialist.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel once per month is necessary. A valid driver's license is required, along with a successful motor vehicle report.
