The Captive & Insurance Management division at Aon plays a vital role in our global operations. With over 500 captive insurance specialists, we oversee more than 1,000 captive insurance entities across 39 global locations, representing a significant portion of the captive insurance sector. Our clientele includes a diverse range of industries, predominantly featuring Fortune 500 companies.
This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for both remote and in-office work.

Key Responsibilities
The Aon office in Burlington, Vermont is looking for an Accountant who will manage the daily accounting functions for a portfolio of insurance companies. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards. The essential duties include:
- Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of accounts.
- Completion of regulatory filings and premium tax submissions.
- Development of supporting documentation for annual Board meetings.
- Reconciliation of loss and investment reports.
- Management of cash flow for the assigned portfolio.
- Support in gathering critical financial data for captive audits and examinations.
- Ensuring the accuracy and punctuality of financial reports and regulatory submissions.

As an Accountant, you will engage directly with client team members from various departments, including corporate controllership, risk management, tax, and legal, as well as auditors and investment managers. Qualifications for Success
- Experience in financial statement preparation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or related fields.
- Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team setting and independently.
- Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or relevant captive experience.
- Preferred background in accounting or business.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while also being self-sufficient.
Educational Background
A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
