Position Overview
This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing flexibility to operate both remotely and from the office.
Daily Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will oversee the daily accounting functions for a portfolio of insurance companies. Collaboration with a dedicated team of professionals is essential to ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of accounts.
- Completion of regulatory filings and premium tax submissions.
- Development of supporting documents for annual Board meetings.
- Reconciliation of loss and investment report data.
- Management of cash flow for the assigned portfolio.
- Assistance in gathering critical financial information for captive audits and examinations.
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and regulatory submissions.

As a Senior Accountant, you will engage directly with client team members across various departments, including corporate controllership, risk management, tax, and legal. You will also interact with auditors, actuaries, and investment managers. This position provides an opportunity to enhance your expertise in financial reporting, insurance, compliance, and soft skills development.
Qualifications for Success
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- A proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or relevant experience in captive insurance.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work autonomously.
