Role Overview

The Accountant in our Burlington office will manage the daily accounting functions for a portfolio of insurance companies. This role requires close collaboration with a diverse team to ensure compliance with all financial and accounting standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of accounts
  • Completion of regulatory filings and premium tax returns
  • Development of supporting documentation for annual Board meetings
  • Reconciliation of loss and investment report data
  • Management of cash flow for assigned accounts
  • Support and compilation of essential financial data for captive audits and examinations
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and regulatory submissions

As a Senior Accountant, you will engage directly with client teams across various departments, including corporate controllership, risk management, tax, and legal, as well as with external auditors and investment managers. Qualifications for Success

  • Experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience in captive insurance
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
