Position Overview

AZTEC Engineering Group is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to take on the role of Senior Railway Project Manager. This position is ideal for individuals who possess a strong background in civil engineering and are looking to advance their careers within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Railway Project Manager will oversee a variety of significant projects across North America, including high-speed rail, metro systems, light rail, streetcars, and bus rapid transit. The successful candidate will:

  • Direct and supervise all phases of multi-disciplinary planning, preliminary engineering, and final design projects.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Engage with federal, state, and local government entities to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Develop and manage project proposals, including scopes and budgets, while negotiating with clients.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to effectively convey project objectives and updates to stakeholders.
  • Support the Railway Department in international projects as needed.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California, with eligibility for licensure in additional states.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the design, construction, and management of rail and transit facilities, including significant experience with North American agencies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. railway regulations and standards.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
