Role Summary

The Supply Chain Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily functions of the purchasing division and warehouse operations. This role is pivotal in fostering strong partnerships with essential suppliers and contractors, ensuring the purchasing department achieves operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

All team members are expected to uphold Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Leading, assessing, and mentoring a team of procurement professionals to guarantee timely access to necessary materials and inputs, ensuring cost-effective ordering and delivery.
  2. Managing and approving purchase orders based on materials planning requirements, monitoring exceptions, and ensuring a seamless flow of materials to support production schedules.
  3. Overseeing inventory control systems to track purchase orders, inventory levels, and production needs, coordinating material ordering activities with anticipated demand.
  4. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement through benchmarking key performance indicators (KPIs) with other business units and implementing standardized processes.
  5. Establishing and maintaining procedures for ordering both direct and indirect materials to optimize resources and ensure reliability and safety.
  6. Managing stockroom operations and training stockroom personnel to ensure effective material handling.
  7. Ensuring inventory accuracy through diligent cycle counts and proper material movement practices.
  8. Building collaborative relationships with operational supervisors to align material supply with current and future demands.
  9. Collaborating closely with Planning and Materials teams to meet organizational goals and KPIs.
  10. Acting as a resource for Strategic Sourcing, assisting in the development of bid packages and project implementations related to organizational improvement initiatives.
  11. Maintaining compliance with the Quality Management System and departmental standards.
  12. Performing additional duties as assigned by management to support company objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in materials or supply chain management.
  • Preferred experience in supply chain leadership roles.
  • Experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Certifications such as CPIM or CSCM from APICS are advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of fire truck products is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret and analyze business documents and technical procedures.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying goals and project updates.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Competence in calculating figures such as discounts and percentages.

Computer Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ERP software is required.

Abilities:

  • Ability to manage complex problems with multiple variables.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in material flow management and replenishment models.
